A saxophone player for your wedding
Few instruments suit a Dubai wedding as well as the saxophone. It is warm enough for a sunset terrace, smooth enough for dinner and loud enough to lift a dance floor next to a DJ. The question is not whether to book one, but where in the day it will make the biggest difference.

At the ceremony
A saxophone can play the walk down the aisle — romantic ballads and soulful pop arrangements suit it best. It is a bolder choice than strings, so it works especially well for beach, rooftop and garden ceremonies, and for couples who want something less traditional.
During the cocktail hour
This is where the saxophone shines. A saxophonist with a wireless microphone can roam between guests, playing smooth jazz, soul and lounge versions of pop songs over gentle backing. It adds atmosphere without stopping conversation.
Over dinner
For dinner, keep it light: jazz standards and bossa nova at conversation level, or pair the sax with a pianist. A singer and sax duo gives you the feel of a jazz club without a full band.
At the party — with a DJ
The sax-and-DJ format is a favourite at Dubai weddings. The DJ plays the tracks; the saxophonist plays the hooks and solos live on top of house, disco and pop. It turns a playlist into a show and costs far less space than a band. For more energy, add a percussionist or swap in a violin and sax duo.
Song ideas
Every saxophonist has their own repertoire, but these styles always work:
- Soul and Motown classics for the cocktail hour
- Romantic ballads and film themes for the ceremony
- Jazz standards and bossa nova for dinner
- House, disco and current pop for the party with a DJ
- Arabic and Bollywood melodies for mixed audiences — ask in advance
Send us your favourite songs and we will confirm which the musician already plays and which they can prepare.
Choosing your saxophonist
Watch videos of real performances, not just studio clips. Decide on styling — a female saxophonist suits ladies-only receptions and fashion-led weddings. And decide whether you want one saxophonist for the whole day or different musicians for different moments.
What the musician needs
- A sound system or a small speaker for backing tracks (we can arrange one if the venue has none)
- A wireless microphone if you want them to roam
- Shade and a cool spot outdoors — saxophones are happier in the evening than in midday heat
- A clear timing plan: when they start, when they break, and the cue to join the DJ
Questions, answered
Can a saxophonist play the wedding ceremony and the party?
Yes. Many couples book the same saxophonist for the cocktail hour and then the party with the DJ, with a break during dinner.
Does a wedding saxophonist need a DJ?
No — they can play over their own backing tracks. With a DJ the party feels more like a live show.
Can the saxophonist learn our song?
Usually yes. Send the song as early as possible so it can be arranged and rehearsed.
